World Equestrian Mounted Games – 2010 Champions, Team USA
The 2010 World Equestrian Games debuted the Mounted Games during their competition. The 2010 WEG were held in Lexington, Kentucky at the Kentucky Horse Park. The international teams that traveled to the Kentucky Horse Park competed in the Mounted Games Demonstration over 8 days.
The 2010 World Equestrian Games were unique because this was the first time they were held outside of Europe. Fifty eight countries were represented in all manner of equestrian sports, including a Field Sports demonstration of Mounted Games. These field sports also include Polocrosse and Federation International Horse Ball, and are immensely popular all over the world.
Games include Team games, Pairs games and individual games. Many are forms of relay races requiring excellent timing, agility and riding skills. Just some of the names of the games include: Agility Aces, Bang-a-Balloon, Bottle Shuttle, Flag Flier, HiLo, Hug-a-Mug, Jousting, Litter Lifters, Mug Shuffle, Pony Express, Pony Pairs, Socks and buckets, Tool Box Scramble and Two Flag.
